WEATHER:   For up to the minute WEATHER for Goose Pond and the Lake Ariel area click here for current and forecast.

Water status:  The water system at buildings and sites is closed for the Winter. Potable Water is available at the Pump House.

Road Conditions: We are being extra cautious here for the sake of your safety and to avoid damage or problems. As of 1/10/2010, all roads are covered with a base of ice from earlier freeze/thaw cycles with about 3 to 4 inches of light, powdery snow on top. We would recommend you walk into the camp and avoid driving in. If you drive in, it's at your own risk - use 4x4s only and chains might be in order. Walking on the powder is good, bring your gear in on toboggans or backpacks. Park at the Main Gate or at the Shale Pit (Marked "Day Parking" on map) . See the camp map for details.

Current Wildfire Risk: LOW - Please keep fires contained in fire circles. DO NOT dump hot ashes from fireplaces or stoves outside - let the fires simply burn completely out.

Restrictions: Use appropriate caution on the ice and snow around camp. Use caution around the Pond banks and river banks. Use caution and common sense on The Pond when fishing, hiking, or playing.
